JOB SUMMARY: Directs and manages the overall, daily operations of Accounting, Patient Accounting, Admitting, and Materials Management to assure fiscal responsibilty. Administratively responsible for the effective supervision and operation of the Healthcare District's financial and general support services. Establishes goals to ensure strong share of market and profitability of services. Ensures that the hospital is current in its policies and procedures and is in compliance with regulatory standards. Communicates and represents the hosptial to audiences including but not limited to staff, patients and families, board members and other members of the healthcare community. Creates a positive environment for staff and visitors.

SKILLS REQUIRED: Excellent knowledge and understand of accounting principles. Highly competent in financial management skills. Demonstrated evidence based leadership. Ability to work with active SVH board members and finance committee. Member of the Senior Management Executive Team responsible for the strategic planning, performance improvement and financial planning of the hosptial. Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills. Good judgement in making sound and timely decisions. Ability to work with a variety of healthcare professionals with tact and diplomacy.

JOB SPECIFICS: Establish yearly goals and objectives with the managers of the departments. Investigates and pursues opportunities for new programs and services. Prepares business plans for new programs. Coordinates and presents annual operating and capital improvement budgets.
Supports, promotes and assists in the development of the mission, vision, values and stragetic plan of SVH. Conducts self in a professional manner with all customers and members of the hospital community. Takes initiative to suggest and implement changes that will benefit the hospital and it's customers. Ability to manage change. Participates in hospital sponsored community events. Demonstrated ability to achieve goals through delegation and coordination of other's efforts. Adheres to HR policies and procedures. Holds departmental staff meetings to inform staff, solicit input, and identify and resolve problems. Maintains current job descriptions. Completes employee orientation and goal oriented competency evaluations in a timely manner. Ensure that the staff is competent to perform their job duties. Investigate, conduct, and document disciplinary action with care and attention to policy. Identifies and implements improvement in departmental and hospital wide services. Evaluates processes and outcomes through date analysis, the use of performance indicators, and national standards based upon current research findings. Collaborates with other departments to improve total hospital performance. Ensures that his/her department meets state and national regulatory standards. Assures that procedures are in place to measure, assess and improve patient care outcomes. Produces verbal and written that is clear and professional. Learns and uses new computer applications as appropriate. Makes frequent rounds through those areas of responsibility. Responds to complaints and questions promptly. Uses notification forms to document unusal events. Seeks input from customers to evaluate and improve services. Work collaboratively and cooperatively to identify alternatives, solve problems and implement solutions. Coordinates activities with other departments to promote effective workflow. Ensures that staff approach our customers with a caring and positive attitude. Assumes responsibility to resolve customer problems and concerns.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Masters degree in Business Administration or CPA is desirable. Minimum of 5 years of progressive management experience, preferably in hospital setting.
